Sports Club Websites Built for How Clubs Run
Not a generic business template forced into club shape - a proper site for fixtures, members, subs and the junior section. Built around how a volunteer-run committee actually works.
Kettering clubs deserve websites that work hard for them. We build professional sites that look great on any device and actually help bring new members and families in.
We're not a big company with a call centre somewhere far away. We're a real person, based in the Nene Valley, who takes the time to do things properly. When you work with us, you get someone who'll listen, explain things in plain English, and make sure you're genuinely happy with the result.

Why a Subscription Club Website Beats a £1,295 Kettering Agency Quote
Most Kettering web design firms ask for £1,295 upfront for a small club site, plus £400 to £600 a year for hosting and updates after that. We charge £30 a month, full stop. Same professional standard, no shock invoice when the committee wants to change the chairman\'s phone number or swap the photos on the homepage. After three years the club has spent £1,080 with us against £2,400 or more on the typical agency route, and the treasurer has never had to brace for a "renewal quote" landing in the inbox.
The reason we can price this way is straightforward. I\'m one developer working from the Nene Valley, and AI handles a lot of the repetitive build work that a traditional studio bills a junior to do by hand. No converted High Street unit to pay rent on, no studio off the town centre, no account manager forwarding the secretary\'s emails to a developer who might get to it next week. Just me, your club site, and a fair monthly bill. Full pricing breakdown is here.
Who in Kettering This Is Built For
If you run a cricket club on Northfield Avenue, a rugby side near Barton Seagrave, a hockey or tennis club, a scout or guide group in Burton Latimer or Rothwell, or a small society out in Desborough, this is built for you. We\'ve kept things deliberately simple. Volunteers don\'t need to know about DNS, SSL certificates, hosting providers, or which CMS plugin is currently broken in WordPress. The committee phones, WhatsApps or emails, and I sort it.
The model works particularly well for any club whose enquiries arrive after 9pm on a phone screen - parents looking up junior cricket subs, prospective members trying to find training nights, new arrivals to the town searching for "rugby club Kettering" or "hockey club Kettering".
What\'s Actually Included Each Month
For £30 a month the club gets the lot. Custom design tailored to the club, the build itself, fully managed UK hosting, security patching, daily backups, mobile-first responsive layout, basic on-page SEO, Google Analytics set up properly, and ongoing content updates whenever the committee asks. Need a new junior section page added next month? Drop me a message. Want the fixtures refreshed every Friday? Same answer. There\'s no per-change fee and no minimum hours billed.
For Kettering clubs that want online subs or event entries, the £50 a month Premium tier adds Stripe checkout, basic capacity tracking, and order notifications. We can also wire in a full club management system if the committee is groaning under spreadsheets.
Free Site Review, No Strings
If the club already has a site and you\'re not sure whether it\'s pulling its weight, send it over. I\'ll spend about half an hour going through it: load speed on a 4G phone, mobile usability, basic on-page SEO, accessibility, schema markup, and whether the membership enquiry form actually works. You get a short written summary of what\'s good and what\'s costing the club new members. No follow-up sales pitch, no obligation to move. Drop me a line with the URL and I\'ll reply inside 48 hours.
Accessibility Built In, Not Bolted On
Every site we build meets WCAG 2.1 AA basics out of the box: proper heading structure, sufficient colour contrast, keyboard navigation, alt text on every image, and form labels a screen reader can actually announce. None of the other Kettering web designers I checked while writing this page make accessibility a default. It costs nothing extra to do it right from the start, and it keeps you on the right side of UK accessibility law if a member ever lodges a complaint.
One Person, One Contact, One Number
Boughton House nearby, Wicksteed Park down the road, Triangular Lodge round the corner: Kettering has 400-odd years of doing solid work without needing a project manager. Your club website\'s the same idea. You deal with me directly from the first chat through to launch and forever after. No ticketing system, no "your account manager is on holiday this week", no escalation tier. WhatsApp 07832 861 509 or use the contact form.
If you\'ve got sister clubs or league rivals in nearby towns, our Wellingborough page covers the same ground 25 minutes south. There\'s more on the subscription model itself, or browse the core sports club websites service page.

Don't just take our word for it. Here are some recent club projects we're proud of.
Why Kettering Chooses Us for Sports Club Websites
Plenty of agencies will build any club a generic website. Here's why a club-focused developer is a better call.
We Know Club Life
AGMs, subs renewals, fixture cancellations, junior section consent, GDPR for members, Gift Aid for charities. We've seen it and we design around it.
Volunteers Can Update It
No paying us every time a fixture changes or a new sponsor signs up. Built so any committee member can keep it current.
Mobile-First Design
Most prospective members find the club on a phone at 9pm. We make sure the site looks great on every device.
Built to Be Found
Local search matters more than anything for clubs. We build to rank for "[your sport] club [your town]" from launch.
Sports Club Websites We Build
Every club is different. Here are some common scenarios we help with.
"Our rowing club needs a regatta entries system"
Online entries, division allocation, capacity limits, payments and umpire export
"Cricket club fixtures are out of date all season"
A fixture page volunteers can keep current in 30 seconds from a phone
"Our junior section parents can't find the consent form"
A dedicated junior area with consent, kit info, training nights and parent comms
"Subs collection is killing the treasurer"
Online card and Direct Debit collection with Gift Aid CSV at year end
"The site looks fine but doesn't bring in new members"
Proper local SEO, sharp signup CTAs, fast load on mobile
"We just need a simple site for the bowls club"
Simple doesn't mean basic - we'll create something tidy that fits the club
How a Sports Club Website Gets Built
Building a club website doesn't have to be complicated. Here's how we work with committees.
We Talk
First, we have a proper conversation about the club - how it runs, who the members are, what the committee wishes was simpler.
We Plan
We show you a proposal - what the site will include, what it'll look like, how much it'll cost. No surprises.
We Build
We create the site, showing progress along the way. The committee gives feedback, we refine.
We Launch
Once you're happy, we put it live. We'll train whoever needs to be trained on how to make updates.
We Support
Questions after launch? New committee next season? We're always here to help.

Kettering Sports Club Websites - Common Questions
How much does a club website actually cost per month?
£30 a month for a standard subscription site, £50 a month if the club needs online subs or event entries. That's it. No setup fee, no annual renewal fee, no surprise bill when the committee asks for a change. No VAT charged - Nene IT is below the registration threshold, so prices shown are final. Cancel any time with 30 days' notice.
What if the committee wants to leave - do we lose the site?
The club owns the domain, the content and the data. If a future committee ever decides to move on, I export everything to a standard format (usually a static HTML archive plus raw content and images) and hand it over. No ransom, no awkward "we own the design" clauses. The site's yours.
Can the secretary update content?
Yes. Smaller club sites come with a simple admin panel where the secretary can change text, swap images and add news posts. For bigger structural changes (new pages, new sections, new functionality) just message me. There's no per-change fee inside the monthly subscription, so most committees prefer to ask rather than fiddle.
Do you do SEO too?
The basics are baked in: clean code, fast load times, proper heading structure, page titles, meta descriptions, schema markup, sitemap submission to Google. That gets most local Kettering clubs ranking for their core terms ("cricket club Kettering", "rugby club Kettering"). If you want serious keyword research and content campaigns, that's a separate service from £150 a month.
Can it handle online subs or event entries?
Yes. The £50 a month tier includes Stripe checkout, member signup, capacity tracking, order notifications and order history. Works for clubs selling annual subs, athletics groups taking event entries, scout groups handling camp payments, and any group selling time slots. Stripe handles card processing fees (around 1.4% plus 20p) directly with the club.
How is this cheaper than a Kettering agency?
Two reasons. One, no office overhead - I work from the Nene Valley, not a town centre studio paying business rates. Two, AI handles the repetitive parts of building a site (laying out sections, writing CSS, generating boilerplate). I focus on strategy and the bits that actually matter for the club.
Do you actually know Kettering clubs?
Yes. Base in Oundle puts me about 20 minutes away. I've worked with clubs from Burton Latimer up to Northfield Avenue, and I know the difference between a small village bowls club and a 300-member cricket side. Happy to come and meet the committee in person if useful, or do everything by WhatsApp and email if you'd rather.
What about accessibility?
Every site meets WCAG 2.1 AA as a baseline: proper headings, colour contrast, alt text, keyboard navigation, and form labels. This isn't an upgrade option, it's how I build things. UK accessibility law applies to most public-facing club sites, and getting it right from the start costs nothing extra.
