The calculator maps your answers to one of three Nene IT tiers:
- Subscription - Basic (£30/month): A clean public website. News, fixtures, results, photos, a contact form, mobile-friendly. Suits smaller clubs and groups who don't yet need member logins.
- Subscription - Premium (£50/month): Everything in Basic plus a member portal, online entries, online payments, hire and session bookings, and AGM minutes. Suits most active clubs.
- Custom build (from £200/month): A bespoke system where subscription doesn't quite fit. Multiple membership tiers, complex bookings, a branded mobile app, automated league feeds, or a club shop. Built in stages, paid monthly across the build.
SaaS Club Platform Cost Maths
The right-hand totals use rough averages for UK club SaaS platforms (SportMember, Wild Apricot, ClubSpark, Spond Club, etc.) in 2026:
- Per-member fees around £2 per active member per month (£1-£3 typical range)
- Base platform fee of £20 to £80 per month depending on tier
- Add-on modules for payments, shop, app each adding £10 to £40 per month
Real SaaS pricing varies. Use these numbers as a sense-check, not a quote. Every club is a bit different - have a chat if you want a real comparison against the platform you're on or considering.
When SaaS Suits a Sports Club Better
Custom isn't always cheaper. SaaS genuinely works when:
- Your club has under 30 members and a single use case (basic memberships only)
- Your committee turns over every year with no technical confidence, and being on a mainstream platform means easier handover
- You only need the standard workflow a SaaS platform was built around and don't want anything bespoke
If those don't quite describe your club, a flat-fee Nene IT subscription usually works out cheaper on total cost over five years, with no surprise increases when membership grows.
